Wow, it’s been awhile, huh? At the urging of several friends and family members, I will try to start blogging on a semi-regular basis again!
{you know who you are!}
So, it’s been raining a lot. Actually, that’s an understatement. This spring has been chock-full of rain, hail, straight-line winds, and
more tornadoes than I care to see in my general vicinity. I am thankful that no one I know has been hurt in these storms, but there
has been an awful lot of property damage and it’s going to take a long time to dig out. Even my oldest son’s school suffered the complete
loss of their gymnasium when the roof collapsed under the stress of all the rain. And to top it all off, they lost the use of the cafeteria and
kitchen due to structural damage as well. It’s been a rough one here in southern Indiana!
At least the rain has been good for my garden:

You ever look closely at the centers of petunias? You really should.

“say hello to my little friend”

And before I go… this is totally random but I had to share!

How FUN are THEY???
I’ve got another super cool wedding tomorrow with the amazing Joanne Fowler so look for another post about that soon!
Have a great weekend!
xoxo,
Jess

So. Today’s post will be about something completely random that has nothing to do with clients, or weddings, or business. But it does have pictures, so that’s gotta count for something!
I’ve been insanely, overwhelmingly busy lately, that goes without saying. Between working my day job 40 hours a week, going to school 12 hours a week, trying to keep my head afloat with my photography biz, and trying to squeeze a little quality time in with the fam, I am really stretching myself thin these days. One day, I know I’ll look back on this crazy time in my life and smile, and wish I could go back… I keep telling myself this, anyway.
Anywho.
Miss K and I did a fun, super-duper easy craft yesterday that I wanted to share with you all, especially my friends who have young children. I ADORE doing crafts with the kids and I’ve missed it lately. A LOT.
I got the idea from another blog I read {when I have the time- ha}: anna and blue. We had SO much fun!
First, we unwrapped the paper from as many crayons as we could find {we ended up using every bit of two 64-packs of crayons!}. Then, K broke them up into pieces and we had a blast putting different color combinations together in a cute, spring-shaped candy pan. Bake at 275 for about 7 minutes {keep an eye on them, they melt fast!}. Take them out and let cool completely {we put ours in the freezer to speed up the process}. Pop them out and start coloring! {if you are using a nonstick pan, spraying it lightly with cooking spray helps make the crayons pop out easier!}

She even separated the new crayons into groups to give as gifts at her class’s Valentine’s Day party on Monday. So cute.
{sorry about the cruddy iPhone pics, I was living “in the moment” and didn’t want to take the time to get out the big camera, LOL}

Happy crafting! Come back and let me know if you did this craft too, and how yours turned out!
xoxo

Whew, it’s been a BUSY few months! I’ve done a LOT and I miss blogging! I’ve come to terms with the fact that I am a terrible blogger right now. I’m ok with it. Sorta.
I just HAD to pop on here and share a few from a GORGEOUS wedding I shot recently with my bestie, Joanne. This girl totally ROCKS and she keeps me sane when things get hectic!
It was super COLD and it had just snowed a TON, but we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and perfect day. Ashley and Corey were absolutely MADE for one another. It always gets me *right here* (points to chest) when I get to share such a wonderful and personal time with my brides and grooms. Congratulations, you two, and I hope your honeymoon was as amazing as you are!
xoxo

Just attempting to catch up with a few recent wedding shots! It’s so cool how October is the new “June” as far as weddings are concerned. It’s definitely been a busy Fall season. I love weddings!

Coolest. Groom’s cake. EVER.

I loved this idea! So unique!

Pure beauty.

*swoon*

Ok, that’s enough for now… did I mention I LOVE weddings? *ahh*

Just had a spare moment and snapped a quick shot of two of my most priceless possessions:
My girl, and my grandma’s old Brownie Hawkeye camera {one of MANY vintage cameras I inherited when she passed on}

Ok, Ok… I know I’ve been MIA again. I’ve definitely bitten off more than I can chew time-wise lately!
Anyway.
Y’all might remember this couple from last year… I took their engagement photos {kissing on the train} and they are just the sweetest, most easygoing couple! I just LOVE them.
Their big day finally came yesterday, and it was PERFECTION. No drama, no fuss, just an all-around amazing day! I feel so blessed to have been there to witness {and capture} it
along with my bestie Joanne. She is seriously awesome, people… and she saved my sanity more than once this weekend!
So without furthur ado… here are a few sneak peeks of the new Mr. & Mrs. Hulsey!

{yes… yes I AM thoroughly addicted to the fisheye!}

Thanks so much, Ellyn & Jon, for including me in your special day! You two are an amazing couple, and I truly truly wish you all the best in your new life together!
xoxo

Wow, I’ve been “away” for far too long! It feels like forever since I’ve posted. Life has been so crazy busy, with school and work and the kids, I just can’t keep up on anything else.
So much has happened these past couple of months, I don’t know where to even start. So I’ll just go forward from here.
Miss K lost her first tooth a little over a month ago. Yep, she is growing up on me. She is losing her baby fat and her face is losing that “toddler” look… makes me so sad.
I finally got around to taking her out for a little bit yesterday, to take some shots of the toothless grin for posterity before that new tooth comes all the way in (it’s started already).
She is too sweet.

Sass!

Sorry for the photo overload, I just couldn’t narrow them down any more than this…
xoxo,
jess
